The Woodfather Cometh!

[mantra-multi][mantra-column width=”1/2″]

Of everything that I enjoy and take pleasure out of, nothing compares to just playing and spending real quality time with my children. It can’t be beaten. I’m an incredibly lucky man in that I have 3 beautiful children, two girls and a boy, that my wife and I raise in Melbourne, Australia.

But what comes second to spending time with my family? Spending time in my garage!

I’m not a professional craftsman, my skill level probably ranks me as an amateur hobbyist, and that’s being very generous. But wow, I do enjoy it when I get to make some sawdust.

Seeing as most of the projects I work on are linked to my children in some way, it seemed only natural to involve the kids a bit more in the garage (in a safe and supervised way of course). This way I get to play with the tools and build, while not miss out on spending time with the children either. Win Win!

As a parent, one thing you really become conscious of is that time is so short, and that children grow up so, so quickly. I take a lot of photos of my kids, but still nowhere near enough. I’m really looking forward to reviewing thewoodfather.com in a year and going back over all the precious extra photos and videos that I will have of my babies.

Some favourite projects of mine that I’ve designed and built are my Arcade machines, Childrens Picnic Tables, Train Tables, Beds, Bookshelves and a whole bunch of toys and games for the kids. Generally I design these in SketchUp before building, whenever I do so I’ll offer the plans through here as well for free.

If you see something you like but don’t have the time or inclination to build it yourself, just contact me and place an order for it! Just follow the ‘For Sale!’ link above.
I’ve quite a few projects planned over the next few months so please go ahead and subscribe, I’m sure there will be plenty you will find interesting.
