I know I’ve complained about it before, but two jobs plus life equals not a lot of spare time to complete the workshop.
So after finishing a week of night shifts at 7am, I decided I had to suck it up and get to work. So I did. Straight out to buy more timber and insulation, then I managed to put in over 12 hours in the garage before collapsing into bed, and then snuck more hours in over the next couple of days.

The end result is a nearly fully plastered garage. All on my lonesome too! I was just able to manage the 3m (10ft) plaster sheets by myself, any longer and I couldn’t have done it alone. I had a couple of hairy moments lifting the sheets up, but it all worked out well. No accidents, no broken sheets – and as far as I know, no major stuff-ups.

I had a mate come around to help lift sheets onto the ceiling but we stopped after the first one. That dang Fiat is in the way and would have made it too difficult to lift and support any more sheets safely. I’ve organized for a few mates to come around this weekend, we’ll push the car out and lift the plaster up. Hopefully it won’t take too long at all.

I’m annoyed at myself for letting this build drag on for so long so I’ll really push myself to get it finished over the next couple of weeks. I’m optimistically hoping that I’ll be able to have lights and power hooked up this weekend. Once that happens I can go nuts building cupboards and a workbench. And then I get to start on proper woodworking projects again!
