Garage to Workshop Build – part 2

Here’s some more progress on the garage conversion project.

I spent the majority of the past couple of weeks labouring for my builder brother in law during the day, so I was pretty much spent when I made it home each night.

Nonetheless, I managed to make a bit of progress in the garage. The frame is essentially done on all 3 walls. I’ve left the main entrance alone for the moment as I am still debating what type of doors I will put in.

I had to remove a couple of power points as well as they were right in the way of where I wanted my studs to go. Just looking at these old points makes me scared, I know they have worked well, but I’m glad they are going! The garage will upgrade from 3 powerpoints, to over 10 so I’m excited to get that part done.

Works, but is it safe?

My fingers are crossed that my electrician can come by soon to run his wires, then I can move on to plastering the walls. I need to get everything back inside before the rain starts bucketing down!

"Hmm, I think that stud is off center Dad..."

Fitting out the ceiling was supposed to happen this weekend but being ill the past couple of days I haven’t had the energy to get out there. The kids are back at school tomorrow so I’ll pick up the pace then.
