Let there be light

The past couple of months, I’ve had to make a few trips to A&R Secondhand Dealers, a second hand building supply store that is near me. I’ve picked up some cheap timber, a window frame and the sheet metal for my garage from there. Each time I go, I always walk past a huge pile of the long fluorescent light fittings that I wanted to put in the garage.

Yesterday I was ready to go and buy a bunch of them, so after getting there, they of course are sold out! Bugger, they were cheap too! Luckily a little hunting around found me a seller on ebay who was offering a bunch of 950mm (38in) long ones in the one lot for a similar price.

Now, I must admit, I hate ebay; I find it incredibly frustrating to lead an auction for 6 days and then lose it in the last 3 seconds; this happens without a doubt on every item I bid on! The option was there to ‘buy it now’, so that’s the way I went; I now have 16 fluro lamps ready to be installed. 🙂

Pickup was only around 40 minutes from home so I went and grabbed them that afternoon. Good-guy-ebay-seller even threw in a couple of extra ones for free. The plan was to only put 6 in the garage, and I’m sure that that will be enough. Having so many extras though, I will either install them under the verandah or if that is too much work I’ll put them on ebay for around $8 a-piece and hopefully get some money back.

Plaster has been ordered and will be here on Friday morning – but I’m working Friday to Tuesday so that won’t be much help to me after all!

Getting closer to turning that saw on though!
